PASSION! GROOVE! ROOTS!

AFRIKA GENTE (pronounced "hen-tay") evolved from a Latin jazz and folk dance band to a collaborative of excellent, multi-generational players, with Afro-Latin jazz Diaspora.

Our "folk"  repertoire includes drumming, dancing, singing and folkloric instruments.

The collaborative crosses genres into dance, spoken word poetry, theater and visual arts.
